TOKYO, March 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 106 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 106.17-18 yen compared with 106.20-30 yen in New York and 106.80-81 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2272-2272 dollars and 130.30-31 yen against 1.2261-2271 dollars and 130.23-33 yen in New York and 1.2200-2201 dollars and 130.30-34 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
