JAKARTA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday pledged the nation's commitment to continued cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The pledge was conveyed by the president in his meeting with the delegation of AIIB senior officials in Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java earlier in the day.

"Indonesia supports and gives serious attention to AIIB. In this opportunity I would extend my gratitude over the AIIB's participation in Indonesia's several projects in the first two years of its operation," the president said.

The president conveyed his greeting to the AIIB for its successful operation in the first two years, particularly in its role to accelerate developments in Asian countries.

He looked forward to getting more financing from the Beijing-based development bank for Indonesia's infrastructure projects, he said.

Head of the visiting AIIB delegation and Director Christopher Legg said that the current visit to meet President Widodo was intended to listen to Indonesia's further expectation from the AIIB.

"The Indonesian government has a great interest in developing more infrastructures, wants to see the AIIB to work more efficiently and effectively in creating agreements with Indonesia," Legg said on the sidelines of the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that since the establishment of the AIIB, Indonesia has obtained financing from the bank in its national slum upgrading program in 2016 and two other programs in 2017.

AIIB Vice President Luky Eko Wuryanto said that the AIIB was eager to finance two more infrastructure projects in Indonesia, namely the basic infrastructure project in Mandalika in the eastern region of West Nusa Tenggara province, and an irrigation system.

During their stay in Indonesia the AIIB delegation will visit the Mass Rapid Transport project site in Jakarta and AIIB-financed projects in Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces.
