MADRID, March 25 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of art entitled "Asia First, China, Japan and India" has showcased Asian art in "a fascinating cocktail" expression in Madrid.

"We can see, two or even four exhibitions in one... because as well as the Chinese, Japanese and Indian exhibits, which are of enormous quality. All of this is alongside the work of around 60 contemporary Spanish artists," Museum Director and the exhibition co-commissioner, Manuel Fontan del Junco, has told Xinhua.

The idea of the exhibition was to "make the influence of Asia and China visible" on a "generation of Spanish artists," Manuel Fontan del Junco said, adding that the influence only becomes clearly visible when the Asian and Spanish pieces are shown side by side.

Fontan said the works evoke many things, such as the wisdom of ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi and his book Tao Te King (The Book of the Way and Virtue).

Laozi is the founder of philosophical Taoism and a deity in traditional Chinese religion Taoism. His book Tao Te King also strongly influenced other schools of Chinese philosophy and religion.

One of the constant themes of the exhibition is the use of "Bull's Blood" enamel, which is often present in Chinese sculpture.
