JAKARTA, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese divers showed a class of their own at the four synchro events on offer at the Asian Games here on Wednesday after world champions Shi Tingmao/Chang Yani and Chen Aisen/Yang Hao sealed victories in the women's 3m synchro springboard and men's 10m synchro platform.

Shi/Chang, winners of the 2017 FINA World Championships and 2018 World Cup, led the field and collected a total of 335.70 points, beating Yan Yee NG/Nur Dhabitah Sabri of Malaysia 298.23 and Kwang Hui Kim/Ki Hwa Kim of DPR Korea 282.78.

"We did not look at the scores but concentrated on our dives. Chang is 10 years younger than me but she is smart and knows how to dive with me," said Shi who will be 27 years old in two days on Aug 31.

Shi became the first diver to win the sycnhro event three times since 2010.

"I always celebrate my birthday during the competitions. It's my third Asian Games and I hope I can win my fifth gold medal in the individual event in Jakarta," said the two-time Olympic champion, who has four gold medals from the Asiad since 2010.

Despite entries errors, Chen Aisen/Yang Hao med no challenges in the men's 10m synchro platform with 466.47. Kim Yeong Nam/Woo Haram of South Korea came to second 406.05 and Il Myong Hyon/Kum Rong Rim of DPR Korea third in 395.04.

The host divers Putra Adityo Restu/Andriyan Andriyan were one step away from the podium with 372.57.

"It was a pity that we made many mistakes today and did not show our best. We should perform better than this," said Chen, the double winner at Rio Olympic Games and 2018 World Cup.

The 14-year-old Zhang Jiaqin/Zhang Minjie took the crown in the womens' 10m synchro platform and Cao Yuan/Xie Siyi dominated the men's 3m synchro springboard on Tuesday.

China has won all the synchro events on offer since 2002 at the Asian Games.
