VIENNA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- IAEA acting Director General Mary Alice Hayward said Monday that IAEA has excellent cooperation with China and China's nuclear energy expertise would benefit other member states of the Vienna-based agency.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) "has excellent cooperation with China. We think it's important," said Hayward.

She noted that China has a lot of experts and expertise of the nuclear technology, which would benefit IAEA's member states in the framework of IAEA.

China brings new products to the IAEA general conference, seeking to promote the nuclear technology with other member states.

Director of China Atomic Energy Authority, Zhang Kejian, introduced the strategy of China's peaceful use of nuclear energy at the general conference.

He said China would adhere to the harmonious development of mankind and the nature and to further adjust and optimize the energy structure. As a clean, green and low-carbon energy, nuclear power will have a broad space for development.

Zhang said that China's nuclear energy industry has maintained a momentum of development, and advanced three-generation nuclear power technology has gradually achieved large-scale application in China.

He said China's mainland has 43 operational nuclear reactors and ranks the third in the world in terms of annual power generation. China is building a further 13 nuclear reactors, ranking the first place globally.
